We actively seek to enhance the inclusion of marginalized groups in all the work that we do. Especially in the area of gender and youth, we have developed many approaches and tools to identify and address their inclusion in value chain development programmes. Moreover, we have experience with the inclusion of marginalized groups such as the pastoral communities, indigenous minority groups, urban/rural poor, as well as people affected by natural and human-induced disasters (those living in fragile contexts).
Through the promotion of inclusive business models, pro-poor market development approaches, as well as facilitating access to finance, we aim to address structural inequalities that exist in vulnerable communities. In our working models, such as in Market Systems Development, we facilitate linkages between the larger private sector actors, financial institutions, and local producers/market actors along specific value chains.
