Blen has a background in research, data analysis, youth, entrepreneurship, and value chain analysis.  Blen holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Food Security and Development Studies from Addis Ababa University. Previously, she worked in the Ethiopia-Netherlands Trade for Agriculture Growth (ENTAG) project as a spice sector project assistant, and as a junior consultant at Shayashone Agri-Business consultancy firm.

As a consultant she provides reports and recommendations. She is experienced in monitoring projects, report writing, and in facilitating and organizing interviews and group discussions. Since 2022 she works for Fair & Sustainable Ethiopia as a consultant; and has engaged in various projects such as catalysing green business in Ethiopia, in coaching youths engaged in green business, and as co-project lead in the water hyacinth pilot project.
